Gods symbolized concepts. 

Mortals prayed to Gods for the power they symbolized. 

The more believers a God had, the longer they lived. 

The blessed of the gods, the pope and the priests similarly received a boon in lifespan along with the powers they obtain.

It was a win-win relationship.

Except the Witch of Eternity, who symbolized Eternity, Immortality, Infinity. 

The only everlasting existence of the universe. She had no need for believers.

So when she raised the Tower of Transcendence which promised a completely new power system based on Sigils, the Gods were enraged.

The Gods and the various churches couldn’t sit still as the mortals they ruled over now had no restriction to obtain extraordinary power and could threaten their endless lifespan.

The Witch of Eternity fought countless Gods, fracturing the Nine Heavens before she was finally sealed.

But the Tower of Transcendence had already taken root in the existence of the broken Nine Heavens; they couldn’t stop mortals from obtaining boundless powers now.

Little did they know that the Witch of Eternity had adopted a child.

What she left for the universe wasn’t only the Tower of Transcendence but also a gift for the child.

With the Witch of Eternity sealed, The Tower of Transcendence only had limited time before the gods would destroy it.

It was a race against time.
