After transmigrating into a SF (Science Fiction) novel and enduring cruel hardships, I ascended to the throne as the Emperor of the Galactic Empire.

[Welcome to the Integrated Dimensional Community.]

As the community’s Lone SF Transmigrator, I unleashed the poison of new cultures on the uncivilized primitives of the Otherworlds.

-Let there be light. To judge the horde of evil, the Apostle of the Goddess sent down a Graviton Surge. Thus, in that place was light along with a massive explosion…

-The Grand Duke of the North has shown great interest in your Heattech…

-I, as a Namgung, am thankful for the grace akin to the vast sea provided by the Great Hero. By virtue of the Vibroblade bestowed by the Great Hero, the nefarious Demonic Cult has…

It seems like these Otherworlders can’t get their sh*t together.

The moment I laid eyes on the page, I knew it: Aoyama Gosho. There was no way I could be wrong, and sure enough, it was a One Shot by him! Yay. His artwork alone makes it worth reading. I'm truly impressed by his unique style. Not many mangakas can create such consistent and distinctive visuals across their works.
The One Shot was brief, but I believe that's typical of Aoyama Gosho. While it didn't blow me away, he certainly didn't disappoint me either. Overall, I was satisfied with it.

I'm going to start by saying that the author of this, Gosho Aoyama, is my favorite mangaka. With that in mind, I approached this work leaving all my love for Aoyama-sensei and his previous creations at the door. It wasn't hard to do, really, since the plot here is quite different from what he's written before, with the only real similarity being his very unique art style.

The story is good and enjoyable, but it's something that's been done before, and better. Additionally, there's the fact that the protagonist, Terumi, is supposed to be able to tell when people are lying. However, the way she does so seems more like she's reading their minds than anything else, as she can "hear the truth of what someone is thinking just by looking at them." What I do appreciate about this is that it reveals a person's true self, whether good or bad, rather than simply stating "Oh, yeah. They're lying," which I think was necessary given this is a six-page one-shot.

The art follows Aoyama-sensei's typical style, the one he's been using for years and has had perfected since around volume 20 of Detective Conan. I've heard people criticize the style for its simplicity, but have you ever tried drawing in that style? It's incredibly difficult! Also, since there were no slip-ups that I noticed here, I have no issues with it.

Characterization has to be the weakest part of this, but that can largely be attributed to the fact that this is only SIX PAGES LONG and they had to fit an introduction and semi-plot into that. Moreover, much of Terumi's character is shown through dialogue and her mannerisms rather than monologue, so I believe there was an adequate amount considering the length. Terumi's character is likable, as are the supporting characters aside from a certain one...

I think the biggest hindrance this one-shot faces is its length, which prevents more character development and plot. Personally, I really enjoyed this quick little adventure, and if it gets serialized, I'll be sure to check it out.

Overall, I give this brief trip into the land of mind-reading a 7 out of 10.

I was walking by and spotted a one-shot from the creator of Detective Conan. That was an interesting find, although I doubt it would be much fun if it were a manga. It probably won't be as lengthy as Conan, which is already challenging for me to keep up with the latest chapters.

Moreover, this one-shot was extremely brief—just a few pages. I'm not sure what the author was aiming for; maybe it's some kind of prologue? But I won't overthink it too much.

In any case, if you're curious to see characters outside of the Case Closed manga, it might be worth taking a look at it.
