“Dad, in my previous life I was a knight.”
“Huh?”

During dinner time, while eating the horrifying food made by her dad, his daughter Jin-hee said.

“To be precise, I was the commander of the Imperial Capital Defense Knights and my name was Bazett, but on the day I was to become the family head, I was poisoned to death by my younger brother. But those memories have now resurfaced.”
“Uh……”

Jin-hee rubbed her habitually dry eyes.

Then, putting down her spoon with a clank, she said.

“So from now on, I’m going to quit my job and make some money as a hunter. Oh, and tonight’s dinner is the worst. I don’t think putting pork belly and bracken in fish cake soup is the way to go.”
“……Doesn’t it seem like a health food?”
“You’ll get sick eating it.”

It's not dropped, the light novel is ongoing. Author releases a book every time, you just need to read the LN

Typical chinese urban novel with tons of nationalism, at this point I don't think there's any novel without it in the urban genre for the translated ones.

Good novel, at least it’s entertaining for me. However, the Storyseedlyng page is terrible. They don’t seem to notice issues with the chapters, and even when you leave a comment, it gets ignored.

For example, Chapter 146 is missing, and I left a comment four weeks ago, but it’s still not there. I tried joining their Discord, but it doesn’t even have active chats. In short, it’s a complete farce.

I’m a Spanish speaker and use a translator to read. For some reason, I haven’t been able to read on Storyseedlyng since Chapter 146 disappeared from their page. Since they don’t translate the chapters, I’ll leave this note for any other Spanish speakers who come across this. The novel is entertaining and worth it, but the page is useless, so you might as well give up on this novel and any other Storyseedlyng novels.

First of all, this translation is quite well done. There are a few minor mistakes and some sloppy pronouns or names, but the context and flow are excellent—very well executed. Regarding the story itself, this is a fascinating twist on the reincarnation theme. I genuinely enjoyed it. The main character is a female warrior from a world similar to Earth, who merges with a younger girl from an Earth-like setting where mysterious gates have appeared. The narrative starts at a fast pace with minimal context but quickly hooks you before settling into a comfortable rhythm. It gradually builds the setting and deepens the relationships between characters. While not primarily a romance, there are subtle hints of attraction between certain characters. The concept of gates and dungeons and their integration into the story is intriguing, though this aspect is just beginning to unfold as I hit the paywall.

The first 60-odd chapters are free and, in my opinion, are extremely well-written and enjoyable. However, the remaining 130 chapters (out of a total of 191, including the ending) are behind a paywall, costing around $50 USD to complete the story. While some might find it worth it, that’s a bit steep for me—I didn’t even pay that much for all the Hobbit books, and those were physical copies I could put on a shelf! I definitely believe translators should be compensated for their work, especially the good ones, but I’m struggling with basic expenses. So, there you have it. If you can afford it, please consider purchasing the remaining chapters and reading this great story. I’d love to hear what happens!

Writing a review to support, the main character is really cool. I love a strong, badass female lead. So far, I'm enjoying it a lot, and it's definitely worth giving a chance if you're into this genre.

Oh my, finally someone is picking up this series! I remember reading a translated version years ago, but the translator stopped. Thanks for taking it up!

I'm a bit surprised this hasn't received any reviews yet.

There aren't many chapters available at the moment, but the translation quality is excellent, and each chapter is quite lengthy, making it well worth a read to see if it suits your taste. I'm giving this a preliminary 5-star rating because it deserves some love and attention to gain momentum, and it's always great to encourage the translator to keep going ;)

So far, we have an overpowered Hunter protagonist who has a past life as a formidable knight. As she explores the Hunter/gate world, she starts uncovering peculiar connections to her former life. The world-building is intriguing, and I hope it develops further down the line.

I'm looking forward to learning more about her past and present personal life and relationships. So far, we've only gotten hints.

I'm not quite sure what to think of this novel. If you somehow switch all the genders, making the female main character (fMC) male and vice versa, it turns out just like any of those reincarnation stories. You know, where the main character (MC) is incredibly overpowered, and the female leads are somewhat strong but ultimately fall short to the MC in skill and end up wanting his attention or affection. It's all very familiar. Maybe there’s even a stalker in the harem.

Here, the same thing happens. Every male lead seems to become interested in the female protagonist super quickly. It's all very weird. Even the protagonist admits she's a face-con and offers help because the teen boy is good-looking. If you flip it around, a 30-year-old male protagonist offering help because a teen girl, who isn't an adult yet, is pretty... Is this female protagonist actually a male protagonist in disguise?

I guess it could be a thing for female readers to finally have their ultra-strong female lead, but I’ll be skipping this. If I really want to read a wish-fulfillment novel, I would rather read from a male perspective. Maybe beyond 28 chapters, there might be something interesting, who knows.

    3 stars.
