At first, El was just a seven-year-old boy, surviving in a war-torn village steeped only in the air of misery and the stench of death.

He was far from ordinary though – for his fragmented memories made it difficult to remember many things, yet it gifted him with an uncanny intelligence.

With only a few tattered books from a crumbling, wooden library, he taught himself how to read, clinging to knowledge as his only solace.

He believed his fate was sealed, destined to die like other children who succumbed to illness or starvation, then left him there alone.

However, everything changed the day his village was attacked by unknown people. The invaders slaughtered everyone, yet for reasons he couldn’t fathom, they left him alive.

When El awoke under the pale light of the full moon, the attackers returned, searching for what they called "A breath that was left."

Helpless, he was captured. What followed was a blur – six years of his life erased from memory. He woke up again, his head bandaged, in the care of a mysterious man who brought him to Mirthwater, a city in one of the Four Vassal States of the Ryxhaton Empire.

Then without much of an explanation, he abandoned him there.

Left to fend for himself, El navigated the harsh underside of Mirthwater, while haunted by dreams of the unknown he couldn’t make sense of.

But his quiet struggle for survival suddenly took a dark turn when he stumbled into a brewing conflict hidden within the city’s shadows.

Unwittingly thrust into a world fraught with danger, he found himself face-to-face with creatures born from humanity’s darkest desires and worst nightmares.

Now, El’s must confront the horrors lurking in the depths of Mirthwater and uncover the truth about his past – before it consumes all of him.

I like how the story flows. There are not many cliches even though this is a system Apocalypse novel. If you combine these 2 genres then you will probably see many same types of outcomes but different types of titles. Very satisfied as of now.

Spoiler Alert:Chap 137-138Gets an item from the game to turn invisible. Save a neighbor girl from 2 armed assassins. That same day, author wrote love this and love that then they sealed the deal in bed.Wow.Anyways, a major turn down for me. Decided to quit reading it. Not much development, just a guy fast lvling usng cheat monsters. The author mish mashed the contents trying to make it emotional, mysterious and funny but failed. It's too fast paced for its own good it cant maintain a good storyline. No parents.Sick sister. In debt.A broken gaming helmet. An op ingame cheat.Easy money. Millions to Billions. Beats the military and other secret organizations in the missions of the game.Writer under estimates the military too much. They can check your bank accts. especially that you made millions of money and that you are not yet a bonafide citizen of a high end energy city. You're from the slums. It was good at first, can tolerate it. But the addition of secret police/military/organization in a somewhat light hearted storyline, gehhhh.the additional of very fast romance is gehhhhh.the addition of making virtual iyems real is gehhh..this is considering the fact that the vmmorpg is not yet fully developed to the point that it's passable as a game that adheres to 100% reality.gehhjj...I'd say a letdown after the first 100 chapters. it has potential but mehh.

-A decent, albeit cliche, premise. -A generic daily check in style system that always gives an item he'll need. I find myself thinking about what I would do on each room instead of what the dumb MC does. It's not that the MC is stupid, he is just slow and reckless. No thoughts, head empty, but not stupid. I hope that makes sense.Other than the middle of the road plot and cookie-cutter characters the quality of the writing is nice.
