    Please watch the anime!

I watched the anime long before I read this manga. I chose to read the manga because I heard there were some differences, and indeed there were.

Although the manga came first, the anime elaborates on ideas and situations, offering deeper insights into what's happening. While reading the manga, I found myself feeling a bit lost at times—and the only reason I understood anything was that I had already seen the anime.

The manga feels rushed. Important scenes are skimmed over, and significant events are wrapped up in just a few pages when they deserve more attention. The manga didn't make me emotionally connect with any of the characters because they weren't as well-developed as in the anime.

The artwork was stunning, though occasionally the line work was hard to decipher, especially during close-ups.

The story was solid, but it could have been extraordinary if it hadn't been hurried and instead allowed to reach its full potential.

I don't dislike this manga, but the anime definitely leaves you with a more satisfying conclusion.

Story-wise, Romeo x Juliet is indeed another tale inspired by William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." There are several factors that differentiate the two. These factors are both unique and confusing. At various points and events, I found myself questioning what I had read and re-reading parts to make sense of them. In the end, I found the twists interesting, but they weren't enough to make me extremely fond of or fully understand the story. This was a turn-off for me.

The artwork in this manga is decent. It's not particularly stunning or breathtaking, nor does it stand out much from other mangas. In some places, it looks odd or lacks detail, or is just plain bland. The style isn't extraordinary. It's pleasant to glance at, though.

The characters in this manga differ quite a bit from Shakespeare's original creations, which is something I appreciated. Despite many people recommending both the manga and anime, I had put off reading and watching them. However, after finishing the manga, I was glad I did. The characters are different and relatively unique compared to most manga I've read and even from Shakespeare's originals. Some characters can be annoying or overly selfless. They have a bit of depth and meaning, but they're not fantastic characters. Given the manga's short length and its nature as a spin-off, it does a good job of developing characters from basic knowledge to having some depth. I grew fond of Juliet and a few side characters, which was satisfying for me with this type of work.

Overall, my enjoyment of this manga can be summed up simply.

It was a good and interesting read, albeit equally confusing. I found the romance aspect just engaging enough without being overwhelming, which suited me well since I don't enjoy romance as much as I probably should. The characters were somewhat interesting, though they fell short compared to the story, which was far more captivating than focusing solely on the couple (which was surprising for me, considering most Romeo and Juliet stories center heavily on the pair, making it hard to focus elsewhere).

I think this would be a charming read for anyone, provided they follow it up by watching the anime, which is much better and one of the few I'd recommend so highly. If you're looking for excessive romance, this might not be for you. If you're not interested in a fantasy-based twist on Shakespeare, this might not appeal to you either. Still, give it a chance. The characters are intriguing enough, and the plot holds up well on its own.

I hope that if you do read it, you'll find it enjoyable.

Wow, it's really not very good. The so-called "fight scenes" (which only last a few panels) are quite rough and difficult to follow. As for the characters, they predictably fall in love in this "Romeo and Juliet" imitation, but the mangaka doesn't develop this plot at all. They meet, they fall in love, just because that's what happens in Romeo and Juliet. I did finish reading it, but only because it was the only thing left in the store that I hadn't read yet.

I really enjoy this manga. It presents a twist on the "basic" plot of William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," revealing that things aren't quite as they seem. While it does adhere to the fundamental elements of the original play's storyline, it can be somewhat confusing at times. Particularly, when compared to the play, there are discrepancies—some characters who are supposed to be dead are alive, and some who are alive are supposed to be dead.

Overall, though, it's an excellent read, and I highly recommend it to those who appreciate romance manga.
