That Lady’s Stalker

“Oliver, isn’t your sister in a bit of danger?” 

Meanwhile, in the shadowy corner of the banquet hall,

A man with dark, piercing eyes, as intense as the shadows themselves, stared at her unblinkingly.

* * *

“Asher.”

Olivia softly called his name from behind the curtain, where he remained still and silent.

“……”

He didn’t respond immediately, as was his habit.

Nothing seemed particularly different, but the fact that his letters had become less frequent was a significant change.

Taking a deep breath, Olivia stepped closer to the bulge in the curtain caused by his strong frame.

Their bodies pressed against the fabric separating them.

“Ah….”

“Why did you do that?”

A low, almost pained sigh—something between a groan and a rough breath—came from the thick, dark curtain, but Olivia paid it no mind. She pressed herself even closer to him.

“Today’s letter. Was it all there was?”  

“Ha….”  

Asher seemed too distracted to properly register her words.

Undeterred, Olivia slipped her hand through the gap in the curtains, grabbing the hem of his jacket and pulling him forward.
