This is actually the story of a teenager who, after the devastating and spartan-like training of his crazy cool/Gong teammate, turned into a super amazing point guard that could blow up the skies even though he may seem low-key on the surface.

Also, Nie Chuan is Reese’s first love.

Nie Chuan: I’ve decided to promote you to becoming my best friend!

Reese: If I can be your best friend, it just means that you have no friends.

Nie Chuan: Hey! How could you say that! Do you know what it means to be my best friend?!

Reese: I’m sleeping.

Nie Chuan: It means that when I get married, my bride may not necessarily be her, but my groomsman must be…

Reese: The groom must be me.

Nie Chuan: What– you want to snatch my bride away?! You’re too inhumane!

Reese: Sleep.

"This is definitely one of my all-time favorite novels! If you're into light-hearted shounen ai themes, combined with a love for sports, and looking for a refreshing break from heavier literature, this is the perfect choice for you! Believe me, I've read it at least a dozen times, and here I am commenting yet again - guess what? I'm about to dive back into it for another round! 😄"

"Super adorable! My heart melted after finishing this. There's minimal angst, save for a few chapters around the 90s, and loads of fluffy moments. However, be cautious, this book is heavily centered on basketball. If you're not a fan, you might find it boring. Fortunately, character development mostly unfolds during gameplay, which I found more engaging than a straight recount. The basketball action is excellently written, keeping me on the edge of my seat. Even the sports scenes were captivating, contrary to my initial expectations.

Characters-wise, they're generally likable. I appreciated how their growth extended beyond the main couple to their teammates and rivals too. But the story does revolve around our two leads quite a bit, with plenty of cute and romantic moments. Side characters felt a bit underdeveloped at times, serving mainly to push the plot forward. The MC has a slightly foolish charm, acting like an innocent lamb, and I couldn't help but want to pinch his cheeks. The ML is dominant, not my usual preference, but his affection for the MC is evident, and he's quite charming. The only issue I have is a brief instance of non-consensual behavior, which is not fully addressed – that's my major critique. Fortunately, it's a rare occurrence.

As for the steamy scenes, this isn't the place for them; it's mostly passionate kisses. But the sweetness in other scenes compensates. Overall, it's not a masterpiece, but it provided enjoyable reading. I had a pleasant surprise by how much I liked it. It's got enough fluff and thrilling basketball to satisfy, making it a perfect casual read. I'm definitely looking forward to the translated version, and I'd definitely recommend it and read it again."

This is one of my cherished Yaoi stories. As I read through the detailed descriptions and gameplay mechanics, I marveled at the author's exceptional ability to bring the action to life for readers like myself. The translator also deserves immense gratitude for their guidance. Every time the main character (MC) reacted, a smile graced my face – his reactions were refreshingly unique, with a touch of innocence that tugged at my heartstrings. His seemingly不经意 approach to basketball, which felt genuine rather than calculated, made him all the more relatable.

His character development, though predictable in some ways, still managed to surprise me. The way he evolved throughout the story was both anticipated and delightful. The romantic aspect, in particular, stood out as serene and heartwarming, leaving me envious and longing for my own such experience.

I truly adore this story, and it has a special place in my heart. ❤️

Alright! Apologies for the delay in sharing my thoughts on this book. Here goes:

"Strong Offense and Defense" revolves around a young protagonist who gets unexpectedly selected for his school basketball team, leading him down a path he'd never imagined. As a sports novel, it's right up my alley, and I adore the main character – a straightforward and daring lad who isn't afraid of heartbreaks. The author skillfully showcases the male lead's patience in pursuing the MC, which is a delightful aspect, especially when the MC falls for him but fears rejection for the first time.

I'd like to encourage everyone, if you have feelings for someone, just express them. Regardless of the outcome, remember, things can change, and sometimes a declaration of affection opens new doors. It's easier to move on than dwell on unspoken words and regret.

The action-packed sports scenes in this book are exhilarating – it felt more like watching an anime than reading文字! Despite my average reading pace of 2 out of 10, I found myself getting completely absorbed in the story. There were moments where I thought, "Okay, I'll come back later," but the gripping matches kept me hooked until the very end.

Though I mostly relied on machine translation towards the end, I genuinely enjoyed the novel. So, readers, don't expect heavy steamy content; focus on the wholesome relationship between the two characters, enhanced by their fame as athletes, and the numerous sweet kisses throughout the story."

The author employs secondhand embarrassment as a comedic tool, but it often causes genuine discomfort. I've had the unfortunate experience of dropping this book numerous times whenever the main character (MC) experiences an embarrassing moment. The chemistry between the protagonists seems lacking; the male lead (ML) has a tendency to tease and be sarcastic with the MC, which can be unexpectedly hurtful. I'm not sure if it's just my sensitivity, but it's hard for me to believe that the MC could develop genuine feelings for such a character.

Additionally, the MC's emotions towards the ML seem forced, bordering on admiration rather than love. It doesn't feel organic or authentic. Perhaps I'm being biased and subconsciously hoping the MC wouldn't end up with the ML. To be honest, my favorite characters are everyone else except for the ML. It's a bit complicated, I guess.

At present, this is one of my top picks among heartwarming BL (boys' love) novels that combine a slow-burn romance and comedy elements with sports themes. Although it doesn't begin with a heavy or dramatic plot, the story exudes a sense of warmth and pure joy as you read. Nie Chuan's gradual and comical realization of Reece Reddington's affection is particularly entertaining. In summary, I highly recommend waiting for its completion, as it's an enjoyable and well-crafted book.

"We desperately need more thrilling sports content, preferably featuring physical activities, not esports 😩. The camaraderie between teammates is just too adorable 😩."

I translated it eagerly because I couldn't wait. MTL (Machine Translation) is quite manageable. The story is overall very light and romantic, featuring passionate kisses but no explicit content. The main character (MC) is adorable, while the love interest (ML) is adoring, though there's a scene around chapter 95 where he somewhat forces MC into a more intimate situation (which I don't recall being too graphic). The plot follows a predictable pattern; MC encounters challenges but easily overcomes them in the next few chapters, keeping the pace fast due to its basketball setting.

The supporting characters are decent but not particularly deep. They have their moments, but they don't receive much attention apart from MC's Chinese roommate, who becomes a likable buddy.

In summary, this would be a suitable, easy read for someone looking for a lighthearted, low-pressure story.
