One day, without warning, blue rifts resembling crystalline or shattered glass appeared all around the planet—nearly a thousand suspended in mid-air. Curiosity consumed everyone as they recalled countless novels and anime that depicted such phenomena, eagerly anticipating what kind of worlds awaited them. Those who entered the rifts found themselves surprised. Instead of fantastical realms, some were simply transported to another country on the same planet. Others found themselves in parallel worlds, but these worlds were like small biomes, resembling untouched nature—some saw only mountains, oceans, or deserts. There were no monsters, no special powers to be gained. Life went on, and years passed. Then, one day, a single red rift appeared in a district. It was initially dismissed as just another ordinary rift. But as if demanding attention, the rift began to absorb everyone in the district. The government dispatched a rescue team, and what they discovered inside the rift made them shiver and tremble with excitement. Everyone absorbed into the rift had gained a mysterious ability called 'Ethereal,' enabling them to hunt down monsters.
