When the end of the world came and survivors were locked in life-and-death battles with zombies, Shu Lan hid in a garbage dump, using the stench to cover her human scent and escape the undead. There, she gave birth alone to her baby, Shu Maomao.
Fortunately, her son was astonishingly smart and, from birth, possessed the most formidable ability of the apocalypse — “Plunder.”
Unfortunately, childbirth left Shu Lan’s body drastically weakened — she became a total lightweight in combat, struggling even to kill a chicken.
So, at a very young age, Shu Lan (half unwilling, half willing) ended up living off her son’s abilities.
As Shu Lan’s child, Shu Maomao had barely been weaned when he had to shoulder everything: a missing father, a fragile mother, relentless zombie threats, and a crew of bothersome teammates.
To make matters worse (and funnier), Shu Lan is a drama queen. She loves fabricating strange identities, pretending to be a helpless widow with a baby to freeload food, drink, and sympathy — even attracting a powerful ability-user who wants to become Shu Maomao’s stepdad.
Shu Maomao:
“What can I do? I’ll just spoil her. She’s my mom, after all.”
