Shen Xin was born into an average, middle-class family.
During her coming-of-age ceremony, she grabbed a video game controller, and at age six, she learned to play video games.
At thirteen, she became the best game critic; at twenty, she became a renowned game collector; and at twenty-three, she graduated from university and was promptly kicked out of her house by her parents.
“Playing games has no future!”
“If you can’t find a job, don’t come back!”
And so Shen Xin really didn’t return home.
Shen’s Dad and Shen’s Mom were puzzled.
Two months later, at the scene of the World’s Outer Paradise game competition, Shen Xin accepted the prize of three million yuan. “I’d like to thank TV, thank all TVs, but most importantly, I’d like to thank my parents for kicking me out of the house. Without them, I wouldn’t have had this day.”
Shen’s Dad and Shen’s Mom were still more puzzled.
After the competition concluded, the interviewer from the official site asked Shen Xin, “Have you found love within the game?”
“I have,” Shen Xin responded. “The TX-1136 tractor, an all-in-one farming machine for plowing, sowing, watering, and harvesting. My soulmate, my lifelong love.”
The interviewer was baffled.
