MC’s family hails from a clandestine community of necromancers, endowed with the ability to wield magic and converse with spirits. When the world transforms into a Hunter/Gate universe, he awakens to find that the system initially refuses to let him choose the Necromancer class. Undeterred, he repeatedly presses the "Make me a necromancer, dammit!" button until the system relents, granting him—powers that he already possessed. However, the system also endows him with additional abilities, such as collecting monster souls and summoning them, making him even more formidable.

The narrative delves into the intricacies of a hunter's daily life, including registration, gate reservations, and detailed accounts of each expedition. It explores the effects of various abilities and items, introduces other hunters encountered along the way, and reflects the world's evolving reactions to significant events and government policies. There are subtle hints of a lurking conspiracy, adding depth to the backdrop.

While the MC’s character is somewhat one-dimensional and the plot hasn’t yet reached thrilling heights, it remains a solid Hunter/Gate series. If you’re a fan of this genre, it’s worth a read. The unique twist of pre-existing abilities conflicting with the system promises intriguing deviations from typical plotlines. Rating: 4/5 for being a well-executed, if somewhat average, entry in the genre without any major flaws.
