It was a useless ability, right till the very end. That’s what Shion thought as he was dying. Among all the tr*sh, it was the tr*shiest that could only record.

Even when the Libra family was taking his life, his ability, ‘Notepad’, could only record.

But then, with his return, the amplification of the Notepad occurred. Not only recording and storing, but also recalling memories.

All the conditions were prepared.

“My future dream is to be a guardian knight of Libra.”

Now, Shion is about to record their downfall from the closest place to his enemies.

This is an enjoyable read. The main character (MC) and heroines are likable, but there's a lack of a compelling antagonist, which is common in this genre. The story revolves around the MC's journey after regression, with the first 100 chapters focusing on their experiences. As a result, supporting characters don't get as much depth due to the MC-centric narrative.

Many readers might initially perceive the characters as shallow, like Elise, my favorite heroine, whose motivations are unclear early on. However, the author gradually adds depth and dialogue, turning initial dislike into affection. It's surprising how such a shift can occur.

Overall, I'd rate this book 8 out of 10 and would definitely recommend it. The story is accessible, allowing readers to relax and enjoy without requiring extensive comprehension skills.

This novel is authored by the same person who wrote "The Novel's Extra," and it's evident within the first few chapters, with similarities becoming even more pronounced throughout the story. Characters and plot elements closely mirror those in the earlier work. If you enjoyed "The Novel's Extra," you're likely to appreciate this one, but if not, you might not find it appealing.

On a personal note, I actually like both books, and I'd argue that this one is marginally superior thus far. However, there are some drawbacks. The initial chapters focus heavily on a cliché where everyone dislikes the protagonist unjustifiably, which can feel repetitive after a while. The sudden hostility between characters can be frustrating, especially when their dynamics become predictable.

Additionally, the author occasionally veers off course into unrelated and absurd subplots, such as a video game-inspired world or a time loop, which might confuse some readers. The power progression in the story lacks coherence, allowing the主角 to seemingly perform impossible feats due to their overwhelming strength. While this doesn't bother me much, others might find it problematic.

Despite these shortcomings, the engaging narrative and evolving character relationships make for an enjoyable read. The writing is generally good, and the translation is solid. Considering its overall quality compared to other works on the platform, I believe this novel deserves a 5-star rating despite its flaws.

    Original Rating (3.8/5):

The novel initially received mixed feedback (2.5/5) with my expectations being conflicted. Despite my desire to appreciate it, the inconsistent character development is challenging to overlook. I'm continuing to read, but it's safe to say the story only deteriorates as one delves deeper. So far, I'm quite disappointed.

Despite the rocky beginning, I must mention my admiration for Jee Gab Song. His growth from "Monster" onwards is evident, and I genuinely enjoy the novel thus far. In brief, the protagonist, after dying and returning from the future with an enhanced 'Notepad' powered by Libra's Peronium, chooses to pursue a different path in life by attending college. The narrative revolves around his struggles in a competitive and hostile environment, dealing with classism and enmity from key characters.

The story gains traction around chapter 40, but the weak start is a drawback. The awkward conversation between the main character and his killer, as well as the underwhelming introduction of supporting characters like Elise, are apparent issues. Initially, her character was described vaguely by another character, leaving readers uncertain about her feelings towards the protagonist. Early interactions between them leave her feeling detached and underdeveloped, with limited dialogue in the first few chapters.

Fortunately, as the story progresses, these issues begin to improve. Song's typical pattern of a slow start is compensated for by a more fleshed-out plot later on.

Perhaps I am being overly critical, but this is a "plot-driven" novel. The "notepad" power isn't literally a notepad; it serves whatever narrative purpose the story demands. Initially, it allowed him to recall the future through meticulous journal entries, and I could accept the futuristic energy source attached to it. However, by Chapter 21, the power has expanded to include recalling his entire past life, copying and pasting abilities like a magic microscope's vision, and even transferring mana hearts into bodies.

It's intriguing how our weak, sickly orphan, seemingly connected to numerous celebrity young masters who despise the protagonist, hasn't taken any action against him despite constant provocation, vandalism, and antagonism. In a decent story, I would usually trust the author to explain these anomalies later. But given the author's手法, the reliance on the plot notebook as a driving force, it leaves me skeptical and unable to suspend my disbelief.

The writing is excellent, with endearing characters that captivate your attention. Although the pacing is deliberate, it doesn't become a hindrance while reading; instead, it allows you to savor each moment. Each chapter leaves you eagerly anticipating the next installment. Despite one of the protagonists having an unlikable demeanor, you find it difficult to dislike her, even as a reader. Each character possesses a distinct backstory and personal conviction, allowing them ample room to grow and evolve throughout the narrative.

The concept is outstanding, and the translation is swift. Similar to the author's previous works, it leans towards a tragic narrative without losing its humanity. I'm currently at the beginning and eagerly anticipate whether this nascent story will unfold as a cunning shrub or a majestic birch tree.

The premise of the story is highly incongruous, as the characters possess modern conveniences like smartphones, cameras, and the internet, yet they live in a world without firearms and still adhere to an aristocratic system with knights. This imbalance in technology and societal norms creates confusion. The main character's (MC) power level is unclear, as he seems弱小 at times but sporadically showcases strength, leaving readers unsure.

The narrative flow is uneven, particularly during the academy segment. The repetitive assignments and reliance on the MC's unique ability to complete them make for a tedious and unengaging storyline. The academy arc fails to provide a compelling progression or coherent development.

"It's not my cup of tea when it comes to fantasy, because every issue seems to magically resolve itself! If I were to suggest a fantasy novel for a初次接触者, I'd look for one where the protagonist's journey revolves around seeking revenge. The MC might attract a lot of attention due to their relentless problem-solving, but I prefer a more grounded approach. Instead of inventing new abilities ad hoc, there should be foreshadowing or a logical progression of skills that feels organic to the story. It's about the character's growth, not arbitrary power-ups."
