A family inclined to kindness and charity would grace the descendants.
Thanks to one small act of kindness,
by providence she comes across a grateful friend;
Fortunate that her mother,
has done an unperceived good deed….

Men should rescue the distressed and aid the poor…
Who would have guessed that kindness in this world ultimately would be the road that one must choose, that proverbial fork in the road?

Clouds of rain float on eastern winds as new vines start to blossom.
Though drums of war roar too loudly and their brilliance has been lost,
a green grass carpet greets the sun by the break of morning.
Let us wait for the yellow leaves, a few gourds are harvested.

The "Joy of Life" is a captivating novel that delves into the complexities of the human experience, weaving together themes of love, growth, and self-discovery. Author Franz Kafka presents his characters with a raw, unflinching honesty, inviting readers to empathize with their struggles and triumphs. The story often borders on surreal, reflecting the protagonist's existential angst and the dissonance between societal expectations and individual longing.

At its core, the novel is an exploration of the joy found in life's simplest pleasures, even amidst adversity. It reminds us that happiness is not always easy to come by but can be discovered in the everyday moments and the connections we forge with others. Through Kafka's masterful prose, we are challenged to confront our inner demons and find solace in the knowledge that life's beauty lies in embracing both the joys and the sorrows.

In a world that can feel overwhelming, "The Joy of Life" serves as a poignant reminder to cherish the fleeting moments of joy and to keep searching for meaning in the midst of life's chaos. It encourages us to live authentically, to question norms, and to never lose sight of the possibility of finding happiness, even in the darkest of times. This timeless tale continues to resonate with readers, reminding us that the true joy of life comes from within, and it is up to each individual to seek it out.

    I'm at ch.159
    .
So far, it's full of politics and poem, which was already not my cup of tea, and then combined with the slow pace.
    .
Not to mention the sub-par translation quality, making it kinda hard to digest.
    .
    So I'm out. ✌️

I love the casualness of the story. The slow pace and beautiful storytelling.

For endin, there's a large gap and emptiness. You're like seeing a pretty girl but that's it. Anticlimactic.

    It was a nice read.

This story is amazing and the power system is really well done. Some of the best writing ever in a novel. Don't worry too much about the mention of a harem, it doesn't really have much of an influence in the story. So many twists and turns especially towards the end of the series.. it just blows your mind with what you discover about the world. Everyone is extremely well written, this series is good enough to be released as an actual novel.
