I was a bit intrigued by the cover of Starbound Sorceress. The picture definitely shows my envision of Zee. The author did a wonderful job in introducing her to his readers. She didn't have much of a reaction to the inciting incident, though. It was like 'oh, I have a spirit. that's totally normal'. I wished she had shown some kind of realistic emotions to her surroundings. Regardless, I like her. Obviously, since I am a huge fan of morally grey characters. Her companion spirit is my list of favorite thing in the story. The interaction between the two got me smiling. Top tier to the banter. Totally a good read

However, this light-hearted, slice-of-life atmosphere is soon disrupted, as darker elements slowly begin to emerge. The world in I Must Kill The Gods is one where ordinary life collides with deadly forces. From violent, dystopian encounters with corrupt soldiers to moments of raw brutality, such as Theodore's furious battle scene, the novel excels in portraying action with visceral intensity. The fight scenes are meticulously detailed, immersing readers in the raw physicality and danger of Azario’s world, while hinting at his latent, possibly supernatural, strength.
