Eight homunculi girls, who consider each other as sisters, are brought to life in the Netherlands, Zuid-Holland, through advanced genetic engineering, each embodying one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Maeve, a Dutch princess, epitomizes pride; Benesha, of the aristocratic African Badila family, embodies wrath; Haniya al-Bacchus, a Moroccan girl, radiates lust; Mandane Esfahani, a Greek and Persian girl, personifies sloth; Eliza IJzerhart, from the wealthy Dutch IJzerhart family, exemplifies greed; Minah Sawada, a Japanese-Korean girl, manifests envy; and Kayla Graven, of Surinamese and Dutch heritage, represents gluttony.
Maria, the eldest, was created without any singular sin, a supposed embodiment of perfection. However, this perceived flawlessness becomes her greatest curse. Shunned by her fourteen parents and seven sisters, Maria discovers she harbors the dormant essence of all seven sins, a power that awakens when she is abandoned.
Consumed by grief and existential despair, Maria’s yearning for acceptance mutates into a thirst for vengeance. She questions her existence: was she nothing more than a prototype to ensure her sisters’ creation? Wrestling with rejection and her fractured sense of self, Maria vows to make her family experience the pain and emptiness that has defined her existence.
Her quest for vengeance ignites a global catastrophe. Starting at the school she and her sisters attend, Maria unleashes a viral apocalypse, transforming humans into ravenous, vampire-like creatures. As the world crumbles, Maria’s inner turmoil and destructive power become a central challenge—not only for her sisters but also for humanity itself.
Tasked with helping the homunculi overcome their sinful natures are Sansula Badila, Benesha’s human younger brother, and his partner, Hannah Katz. Their mission becomes even more urgent as they confront Maria, the most formidable and broken of the homunculi. Will they succeed in reforming Maria and her sisters, or will Maria’s darkness consume them all?

!Warning! This novel contains quiet protagonist who ISN'T shameless, is working to overcome true life adversity, and DOESN'T fall out of character whenever plot devices are needed. All characters obey their character designs, and act within the bounds of personality limits. The plot flows well, and doesn't get ahead of itself. The author is keeping up a constant stream of smaller chapters. This is easy on upkeep, and is a smart decision in case life gets busy or writer's block happens. The only reason that this doesn't get a perfect score for me is that there are moments (very few, but they are there) where intense or emotional points don't hit home as strongly as they could. This is nitpicky, but 'hey' I'm allowed to critique. This is a review.TL;DR: one of the best novels on this site, and it does it without containing all the gimmicks of the majority of novels here, like guilty pleasure harems/ruthless protagonist/protagonist achieving everything and being perfect/blah blah blah.TL;DR;DR - Read this novel.0 0 Reply

Currently just entering the 100's and I have to say it's been a good read, this kind of book is right up my alley in terms of how it's made and such. I personally really enjoy the soul system, it gives a bit of spice and random to the mix, which I again, really enjoy. I also saw some complaints on the combat and stuff from fellow reviews, and can say that to me the length felt fine, I like the added and bonus details, not saying they don't have a point though, but to me it felt fine. And also, I do personally like the characters, and while yes, to some it may feel like their just there to be there and such, to me they feel human, and that I love. So overall it's great in my book, and one I look forward to reading. It also feels like your taking reviewers advice into consideration author when it's helpful, which I say thank you to, as not many authors do so. But overall, it's been a great read so far and I look forwards to more.0 0 Reply
