I truly loved the anime, and as an anime fan, I naturally moved on to the manga afterward, expecting it to surpass the anime despite the medium shift.  
Let me start by admitting this review is somewhat flawed—I haven’t finished reading the entire manga.  
However, that’s precisely the main issue with this manga for English readers like myself: it’s simply impossible to read it all.  
There are no official English translations, and fan translations stopped updating over a decade ago.  
Despite this limitation, I still highly recommend it.  

For the chapters available in English, they are undeniably fantastic.  
The artist and art style differ from the anime but are absolutely wonderful—this is what I cherish most about the manga.  
The visuals are stunning in most panels, especially the large close-up illustrations.  

Story-wise, based on what I’ve managed to read, it differs significantly from the anime.  
The difference isn’t in the core story but in its presentation. The anime is somewhat episodic yet remains linear, ultimately leading somewhere.  
In contrast, the manga features very short chapters focusing on one specific aspect, often indicated by the chapter title.  
It’s even more "episodic" than the anime, which isn’t a drawback at all. In fact, it adds a nice variation, allowing you to enjoy both without feeling like you’re experiencing the exact same thing twice. Interestingly, while the same events occur in both the manga and anime, their order is quite different.  

What struck me most about the anime was its character roster. In the manga, there are far fewer characters.  
This works both ways—some characters are exclusive to the manga, but most of the anime’s characters don’t appear in the manga. This has led me to believe the anime might be the superior version overall.  

To summarize, I adore both the anime and the manga. However, I deeply wish I could read the rest of the manga without learning Japanese.  
Another perk of the manga is the charming extra drawings at the beginning and end of each chapter—they’re delightful touches.  

Lastly, while I do recommend the manga, I genuinely think the anime stands perfectly well on its own, particularly if you can’t read Japanese. The anime’s story is already exceptional and concludes satisfyingly, including all the unique characters exclusive to it (I won’t list them all, but there are many). I truly believe the anime represents the more definitive experience.  

Of course, these are just my opinions. Given that I can’t read the entire manga, I may be judging it too harshly.
