In a decaying realm of a long-dead immortal, hidden in a forsaken corner of the universe, two souls meet.
Xin, once a burnout prodigy, now lives a solitary life as a hunter. His world changes forever when a giant boar razes his hometown to the ground.
Wu Lei is a street urchin who endures a lifetime of pain and abuse, forced into a criminal syndicate at a young age.
Despite their differences, they share similar struggles, forming a bond that will be tested over decades.
This is a dark, slow-burning tale of resilience and transformation. In a world where grand narratives are forged through relentless effort, Xin and Lei embark on a journey of martial arts, cultivation, and friendship, with its beautiful highs and painful lows.
What to expect:
1. There are no cheat codes. The protagonists are talented but not chosen ones. They don't belong to any prophecy or grand plot; they must claw their way into relevance.
2. At its core, this is a psychological work and a coming-of-age story. The characters evolve drastically yet naturally, sometimes frustrating the audience by design.
3. The cultivation system is detailed and thoughtfully explained gradually to avoid overwhelming the reader. Every type of cultivation will be studied in-depth, and the plot evolves far beyond initial appearances.
4. This book can be edgy at times. While I don't write just to shock, every edgy element has a purpose behind it.
5. As an ESL author, I may occasionally misuse articles or have unusual phrasing. I am continually improving my writing by reading English literature, and my style gets better with each chapter. However, please keep this in mind.
6. The switching between first and third-person narration is intentional, as is the lack of italics. This is not a quirk but an experimental choice that will become relevant in future chapters.
