When Nero wakes up in the body of a teenager named Navarro, he quickly realizes that the world he now inhabits is the setting of a horror romance novel he once read. In that story, Navarro was nothing more than a minor villain—the neglected son of a wealthy, conflict-ridden family—whose tragic demise served only to further the protagonist’s development.

But Nero has no intention of following the predetermined script. With his new identity, he is determined to escape Navarro’s doomed fate, even if it means avoiding conflict with the protagonist and the other main characters.

The problem is, Navarro’s life is far from easy. Ignored by a family that cares more for their other children, he has grown into a lonely and wounded figure. Now, Nero must navigate Navarro’s isolation and suffering while struggling to survive in a world seemingly designed to break him.
