It seems that the author perceives the main character (ML) as unworthy, as they express disdain for him. The protagonist, MC, inexplicably has feelings for him, despite his background. The reader had hoped for an earlier scene of the ML showing remorse, but after reaching chapter 36, they still haven't encountered it. Despite the well-written prose and likable supporting characters, the dissatisfaction with the current pacing leads the reader to consider either discontinuing reading or jumping directly to the part where the ML's redemption arc begins.

If you're already familiar with alpha/beta stories, this is an excellent read. The main character's growth starts off weak, but it's well-developed. It's a fantastic recommendation for those who enjoy angsty journeys, exploring the 5 stages of grief, a self-centered ML who eventually becomes a devoted husband, steamy scenes, and the unique omegaverse setting. I'd give it a full 10 out of 10. I binge-read it, so yeah,总之, highly recommended.

I cannot recommend this book. Initially, I was hoping for a compelling redemption story, but unfortunately, it fell flat. The narrative starts off with abuse and only escalates throughout the chapters. The main character (MC), though likable, becomes trapped in manipulation and gaslighting, holding onto an unrealistic belief that "ML can't love," when the reality should be about self-protection and family. Both the character and I lose hope for a positive resolution.

If you enjoy stories that revolve around toxic relationships, with the sole redeeming factor being superficial traits like appearance, then perhaps this might suit your taste. However, if you're seeking a realistic portrayal of abuse, trauma recovery, and eventual happiness, this is not the right choice for you.

In terms of explicit content, there's mention of rape, pain, and coercion. While I appreciated the writing style during their initial encounter, the emotions and motives portrayed afterward were unappealing.

The subsequent encounters were even more distressing.

Regarding translation, the quality is commendable, with only a few minor pronoun errors, making it generally well-done.

The sense of unease is genuine... The main character's emotional strength is undeniable, and they truly deserve better treatment. However, I still believe that the love interest doesn't fully appreciate MC and should reflect on their actions. The efforts made to regain trust pale in comparison to what MC has gone through. 😤 But ultimately, a happy ending is what we all want. Kudos to you, SD, 💪💪💪!

No one informed me about an ongoing translation; your efforts are greatly appreciated. If I had known sooner, I wouldn't have attempted machine translation for all the chapters. (✿^‿^) This is the latest addition to the 188 Boys series, and it's an Omega universe. I'm incredibly thankful to Shui Qian Cheng for penning an ABO story. The plot is straightforward and not too complicated.

I fell in love with it from the start. (´◡‿‿◡`) Just a hint: In upcoming chapters, you might just want to throttle Qu Moyu.

And our adorable little Qiuqiu is simply cute. (✿^‿^) (✿^‿^)

I stumbled upon this novel while browsing reviews for one of my favorite "chasing wife" books, Perfect Match, and I'm incredibly glad I did; I've grown to love this story immensely. Initially, I thought the male lead (ML) was fairly average compared to other MLs in that genre, but boy, was I proven wrong. He turned out to be egotistical, narcissistic - the epitome of the typical "chasing wife" novel antagonist. Reading his downfall was quite enjoyable, and the author executed the redemption arc flawlessly, allowing me to empathize with the ML's remorse and pain.

What sets this novel apart is the strength of the female lead (MC). Despite her challenging circumstances as an Omega, she excels in her career, which I find refreshing. Unlike many "chasing wife" novels where I often found the MC forgiving the ML too easily or with an abbreviated redemption process, the MC's reluctance to absolve the ML adds depth and satisfaction to the story. It's gratifying to see the ML suffer without the MC.

In my opinion, this is a fantastic "chasing wife" novel, encompassing all the elements I adore - conflict, angst, regret, redemption, and love. I am a big fan! The translator did an excellent job, though I usually skip the end notes to avoid spoilers. I'll definitely re-read this novel now that I've finished another book by the same author, Professional Body Double, and noticed a cameo of a character, Yan MingXiu, in a different role as an Alpha.

Overall, this novel has earned a special place in my heart, and I look forward to revisiting it again.

This story is truly exceptional. The storyline deeply resonates with me; indeed, while reading it, I found myself tearing up and cursing at certain parts. Qu Moyu, that infuriating character, oh how he gets on my nerves! And I can't stand the MC's mother – if I were in the story, I'd give her a piece of my mind. I despise her even more than Qu Moyu, although he's no better. If I rate Qu Moyu as a 10 on the annoyance scale, the MC's mother earns a full 11 points. Both of them are just terrible people.

As for where I left off, I'm not entirely sure, but I'm pretty sure it was well over 100 chapters.

I've been keeping up with the author's weibo updates, which are daily and quite easy to follow along with the MTL. Honestly, I can't help but feel disgusted by Qu Moyu's behavior. Initially, I had hoped for an intense ABO tale filled with angst and remorse from the alpha for his past actions. However, as the story progresses, I find myself having no empathy for him. It would be refreshing to read about an alpha genuinely seeking redemption and making amends with their omega, but Qu Moyu seems to be on a different level. All I wish for now is for Shen Dai to break free from him and begin anew. The title "Alpha Predator" definitely fits. Despite my reservations, I'll continue reading, curious to see if the author can redeem Qu Moyu's character somehow.
