    Not to be an instigator but he does have a point, you both kinda do but using the word lingo just sounds like a 40 yr old dad term. Mainly because that word has been implied by movies and tv shows as an older term that was rotated out of common language. As an avid reader since I think 2018 or something on this site I don’t really remember “cooking” being used often. I remember people saying “I’m gonna let the author cook for a bit.” Not saying there wasn’t but if there was, it was definitely before my time.

    Moral of the story is it’s ok to be old everyone gets there one day, you just got there before us.

    Thing is, people generally don't leave reviews after reading the novel. And so, we get skewed ratings that don't represent the common sentiment. If anything, folks mostly make a proper review if they really love the work, or absolutely hate it
