If you are even a little bit interested in the life of normal people living through the Mao dictatorship, this is a must read. It doesn’t go into detail about the failed policies of that era or the cruel repression, but it is more powerful for that. It is a slice of life story its ups and downs and a very engaging cast of characters. It is also hilarious at times.0 0 Reply
