It is a world in which order is maintained through three great factions: the Church, which bears the greatest authority; the Order of Clausius, possessing influence on par with the Church, claimant of immense assets and military might, and; the Guild of Commerce, an association of merchants and artisans alike.

In this world is the alchemist Kusla, who has been captured and imprisoned for the crime of burning a saint's bones.

There's been a spin-off novel announced with release on 10th January 2015 - Shoujo wa Shoka no Umi de Nemuru (少女は書架の海で眠る - A Girl Sleeps in the Ocean of Magdala).

Ending maker is peak tbh. But that's the point, right? Most of these authors don't know or understand normal romance. Most of the normal relationships I have read have been of the kind where the FMC is barely any useful tbh and there are girls who have much more screen time and writing in them. So, authors take hareem route to appease the fans, and its easier to do that way instead of reading angry comments (an author replied to a similar question on reddit)

That's why I said, half baked romance is much worse to read. It's better in harem because you don't even expect anything from FMCs. Authors gotta do the fan service so I don't really expect good romance now. In harem novels, most of FMCs have their arc and done. I read it more like solo MC novels and ignore romance parts. Better written FMCs are rare and honestly novels increase their tier by a notch if the author can pull it off.
