A Contract Marriage With My Boss

A marriage founded on a binding agreement, one in which she reluctantly consented. He held the position of her boss, while she served as his diligent secretary. She lavished him with all he desired, yet her love remained unacknowledged. When she made the difficult decision to walk away, he offered a contract marriage as a desperate attempt to retain her. However, his heart belonged to someone else, leaving him unable to genuinely commit beyond their physical connection. Despite the painful compromises, she persevered in their union. Yet, each passing scheme eroded her patience, pushing her to the brink of escape. Finally, ready to bid him farewell, he surprisingly refused to let her go. Feeling her distress, Charles surprised her with a sudden embrace, whispering softly, "Sarah, I trust you. You're not like the others. I truly want to be with you. That's why I've severed ties with everyone else. Can't you see my sincerity?" Through tear-filled eyes, she questioned, "If you've acknowledged the end of our past, why do you still carry her picture in your wallet? Why do you long for her? Doesn't it hurt you to see how this affects me?" Looking deep into her eyes, Charles replied, "She's simply a part of my past, a memory." The tension thickened as Charles confessed, "Sarah, have I given you permission to leave? Remember, I'm your employer, your boss, and now your husband." His anger rising, he exclaimed, "Sarah, I am your man!" "Your man?" she echoed, laughter tinged with sadness. Tears streamed down her face, "Are you? The President, I am merely a possession to you, never truly your wife. Please, set me free. I beg of you," she pleaded.
