Yeah, ever since it came back the dialogue has felt extremely stilted. Just... trying too hard, somehow. Like someone trying so hard to replicate a perfect ideal of "how normal people talk" that they ended up with something that doesn't sound like any normal person.

I've been meaning to re-read the first half a dozen chapters, because I don't remember it always being this bad.
