a terrible, terrible person and is irredeemable with the way he treats his daughter.I’ve only read until chapter 20 so-far, and one thing I don’t like about Dorothea is how she treats her brother.! I can kind of forgive her for being mean to him out of jealousy (everything is handed to him just because he’s the Crown Prince), but he has done nothing but be nice to her… genuinely. She’s just so mean to him for no real reason. Yeah, he’s clingy when they’re kids, but he really does seem to care for her. Idk if something changes later in the story, but it doesn’t sit right with me that he tries so hard to be liked by her and earn her favor and all she does is treat him like a nuisance. She’s trying so hard to be good in this life; how does she not see that not being an asshole to her brother is a good way to accomplish that goal?

For a large part of the beginning I was wondering if this was just suffering-porn cos the main character doesn't follow the trend of Return/time-travel stories. She doesn't suddenly have a happy/advantaged life after a life of misery, she's still...miserably and pitiable and I feel so bad for her after she returns to the past.

My main criticism would be the character of Ethan. The story would be better without him and whenever he's on screen it's just frustrating. He arouses no positive emotion in me as a reader. Which is unfortunate because he's in like half the story so far.

this ESPECIALLY sucks because it looks Ethan is supposed to be the male lead. He's literally infuriating but this would mean I'm going to have to see more of him and idk if I'll bother keep reading if I have to go through that

also I feel like there are too many time-skips. Her political and abused life must mean that there's notable event in those skips of time, surely? But we don't see as much happening as I'd expect.

I normally give more detailed reviews/comments lately. but I'm really not feeling it today.

So, it's a really well crafted story with strong characters. The only reason I can't give it a 10 is that it's so unbelievably frustrating. Of course everything can't always be sunshine and rainbows but I think I might go insane if the main character doesn't get at least a little bit of justice soon.
Perhaps the most frustrating character of all is her brother, which is weird because he's not even mean. He's nice, but I hate him. Maybe if you read this, have a more satisfying webcomic ready on the side to cleanse your palate afterwards.
