Reviewd @ ch57Now I'll begin by giving that it does have a good start. The initial gimmick is really quite funny initially when he realises what's going on and how stuck he is, in such a complicated situation.
....but that's basically it for a long time
That's the best part of the series until near the end of season 1 where we're introduced to a new character. A detective. She's fun and interesting and her past and relation to the main character is interesting, that's true. Unfortunately she's not a mainstay, I get the impression she'll be a recurring character (in fact, I think the webtoon even breaks the fourth wall and says this)
So with the exception of the initial gimmick reveal and the later ~10 chapters with this new character...it's really really quite generic. And thus not worth your time overall.
It is Harry Potter with Snape as the MC, this feels almost like a sub-genre of Korean fantasy by now with all the similar series in this vein, even though this one is too blatantly Harry Potter, I would have been game if it was otherwise well written, but it isn't.
It feels like I'm being sped through a story whose purpose is to hit as many "cool scenes" as possible even if they don't make sense in context and break the characters. There is just way too much things happening all at once even though it doesn't make sense and some of those things contradict each other.
Does it even make sense for a person as OP as the MC to be swayed by the money he was offered as a professor ? It seems like he had world changing ambitions, but they got completely derailed because he was offered a few millions, but then... actually they weren't derailed because what he wanted all along was right there. If that was true, wouldn't it have made more sense for him to stay because he found hints of this in the first place ?
It isn't horrible, but it isn't good.
I am really enjoying this series right now. My favorite scenes are actually scenes where MC is inspiring students in the magic school and teaching them new things. But the overarching mysteries in the series are also interesting. I just really don't want this series to be another harem webtoon filled with boobs.
Started off pretty intriguing and different than the normal flow of plots. However with the later chapters it's turning into Harry Potter but told from Snape's POV.
With the three students and the harsh but caring teacher in secret. It seems like the author is juggling more than they can handle with the twists and turns.
