So the first 20 chapters of this are pretty good.
The highlight is the relationship between the mc and her daughter. This is pretty much consistetnly done really really well (except her decision at about chapter 18-ish)
And it was kinda cool to have a father in the main cast who's a really shitty father and is called out on it but is too shitty to understand.
And one of the antagonists seems like she may be interesting down the line, if developed in the right way.
But from about chapter 20 onwards the series has taken a definite step-down. The father's personality has changed so much he's literally like a whole new character, were it not for the name and position.
And that's my main gripe. The relationships between mother and daughter, barbed by the one with the father, is the main dynamic of this series and it's shift waaay too fast.
Furthermore ch24 seemed to imply a bit of romance out nowhere, which just felt kinda disturbing with how out of character it felt.
There's no real mention of an overall plot, just a vague 'something's coming'. But that can be quite normal for a manhwa where the plot won't be revealed til closer to the end of the first season.
If I were judging from the first 20 chapters I'd say it's about a 7/10. Lately it's a step down...
Only Charlotte Matters.
