To elaborate on your first point if he told govts then their focus would solely be on how they can gain more power from the situation or how certain individuals can gain more profit rather than actually taking the threat seriously. Politicians are only ever reactionary after shit has hit the fan and are rarely if ever take action to prevent shit from happening. So in that sense its smart to just leave them out of the loop.

I found it enjoyable

Kaiji is not obnoxiously kind either like some Shonen protagonists. He's got a big heart, but over the series has learnt to be smart about it (to ask extent, he still couldn't stop himself helping Kazuya lol) but he only shares his true self with those he trusts. He's been able to relax with Chang and Mario, feast on dinner, laugh while drunk, and stay up all night talking together like they're in high school again. It'd honestly so wholesome and I'm so proud of kaiji for always having empathy and being just in general an amazing dude.

Art style is great, interesting premise, hopefully they dont run it into the ground with the pace its going at but ive got high hopes for it
