    They were harming people, not killing them, because they're only allowed to kill one a night. Yeah the townspeople were getting pretty fucked up but this is magical border town with magic ways to heal people, and the were free to get help pretty soon after they were injured.

    I was happy to know more about them since it seemed kind of random how we saw two of them older but then MC walks out of the cave and finds one still a baby. That said, they seemed to lose the plot somewhere and started focusing on the humans so much they had to keep cutting out parts of the main story to stay on track...
