Hopefully the mangaka will opt to fix the story. Survival of Sword King (aka Latna Saga) had one of the single-tracked and repetitive story I've ever read, but look how it's going now with the adaptation.

If I had to guess, I'd say magic is relatively rare and highly specialized. Magic in most fantasy universes requires a good amount of study and practice. Even Tina, who's a prodigy, took years to develop those skills to an appreciable level. The average magic user would undoubtedly take even longer.

Not only that, the world itself has to be taken into consideration. It's heavily implied that in Eric's previous life, Tina never learned any magic to begin with. This means it's safe to assume that in undeveloped areas (which would be common in a medieval/fantasy world) it would be rare or completely unheard of for women to even learn they have magic ability, much less be able to pursue that as a career. So not only is it rare to being with, the pool of magic users that can be located is appreciably smaller.
