After learning that he can shape the mana he almost instantly learns how to move it at incredible speeds, condence/expand it, and rotate it in place. These all seem like things that he would have tried during the stages of trying to create functionality for mana, so why with the understanding that he can give it a complex shape did that barrier suddenly disappear?

I like the idea of him trying to learn as many techniques as possible. The question is, how long can he continue to be away from the main objective (the feud of who will be the next demon cult leader), before the system penalises him?

Koichi subconscious use of his quirk here is my wet dreams pertaining to superpowered fights, subtle and inventive way of channeling your ability, instead of just powering through your opponents or just direct defend, he uses his power to divert the flux of movement just a little and he now can put that power in any surface of his body, man, if he used martial arts in a more complex way he would be so much better.

For those of you that would like something similar, read Battle Angel Alita, there the power "system is cybernetic enhancements, but things get pretty crazy, but the best part is that they are always using well constructed martial arts to better use those abilities, and the story is awesome.
