It was just a point of they Jomsviking members, some of em were just tired of war and felt similar to Thorfinn or Thors. I guess you could say they were just living out peacefully in Markland but I don't think Thorfinn would have let them into Vinland aka Arnheid village cause they had weapons with them. They were just doing their thing but didn't swear off violence like Thoerfinn did is the difference tbh

The main couple is also really good, but they did start to go out together right in the first chapter.
There's no "will they won't they", and it's mainly them exploring what it means to be in love with each other.
The side couples still have that freshness of discovering their feelings, and working up the courage to talk to each other, but for me both are very good.
