I have one hope in all of this... if the dumbfuck squad really can't use any of the gifted ones aligned with the palace, this means that besides them... all the rest have a strong loyalty and understanding of their king's ideologies.
If at least one of them can catch wind of this little stupid ploy of theirs, maybe there is a chance things can be put in order... preferably before they even think of doing something to the people of the village, because if they do... not even death will be enough.
I surprisingly came to like the king of this country, the guy clearly is a good person trying to navigate a world of craziness and give his people a good life, so I want him and his kingdom to stay healthy.
When it came back it got progressively worse. The whole brick eater -> slave -> freedom with the girl progression was really solid, but things took a turn for the worse.
