    I was curious about this, so I went back to check the time around when they had parted (s1, ch37). She just sorta gave to him without explanation lol. Though looking at the context, 9ad had mentioned that Shioon could be in danger if left by himself just prior to her giving the medallion, so I'd assume her reasoning for giving it to him was so that the clan would protect him.

    Something neat I found in that chapter, though, was that one of the last things she had told him was a promise to visit an amusement park together whenever they'd eventually reunite. And some hundred chapters later, they do just that.
