    May be wrong, but the Beast part was caused by the drug. Her base Choujin power she had normally was the zombie power, but when exposed to the drug she also gained beast Choujin powers. The beast side may be more of an "evolution" of her power though, as hyenas are scavengers that often take already dead animals to eat, which fits with her previous zombie stuff.
