Asura Chapter 54-56

It has a nice story which is quite original.
Art is good and characters are enjoyable.
7/10. Great popcorn fun with striking visuals, understated yet effective designs, and a refreshing protagonist.
The hero's personality is one of favorite things about this story. He's a clear adult and has this kind of pleasant-natured self-assured maturity that I can't equate to any other hero in manhwa. Oftentimes with these evil-leaning protagonists you'll get a lethal overdose of edge, but our hero doesn't carry himself with ego at all, which is a rare trait among such leading men. When you do get those edgy moments, the prior counterbalance makes it feel like the story isn't edgy at all as a sum product.
Side characters are simple but effective, and the same goes for the world. Character development is almost nonexistent but it strangely didn't bother me too much.
Thankfully (at least for me), the isekai component seems present only as a publisher obligation. He feels like a born-and-raised inhabitant of the world with just a dash of cosmic foresight.
Not sure why the bad reviews, though it does take a few chapters to get rolling.
But towards the end of the first season (ch 35+) the art really hits it's stride, and has some of the absolutely best art in the medium right now, and it's own unique style instead of being a Redice clone. Seriously, practically every page is a wallpaper. The character designs are fantastic, and the plot seems to be really cooking with some interesting underlying mysteries yet to be discovered.
I'd recommend it 100% just for the art and character designs alone though, but it definitely has way more going on than just that. Can't wait for the second season, and I hope they don't make the fatal mistake of changing artists.
It did a good in media res start, not directly into action and just enough to set the scene. It's an action packed series and some intrigue to ,make a coherent story.
The way he treats mother is a bit weird and it was totally unnecessary for him to be a reincarnated person and for her to take another form. Even so the action is good enough to ignore how we aren't told his motivations to be with "mother" or the most basic stuff about sons of corruption.
Since Solo Leveling only a few manhwas have had me so in luv to follow 'em weekly 'cause of hooking, I be desperate to see the TLs ASAP.
It has GREAT art, one of my favs. Great story alike, the world building is amazing, it's extensive and interesting to know more about, and the characters, I love 'em too, due to the manhwa art, they all stand out as it's really engaging, a pleasure to behold.
Although something that left a bit of a bad taste on me is how the events are portrayed in the manhwa, it's not that big of a deal as it's somewhat minimal tho.
This is a story about the acolyte of a sealed evil goddess, so the protagonist is somewhat evil but also still follows some rules of morality, like not killing innocents. I'm not entirely confident whether the story will manage to keep the character morally consistent in the long-term, but for now it's working fine.
Regarding the art, I like some aspects of it, like that the protagonist doesn't look like a carbon copy of the Standard Manhwa Protagonist. However, I found some action scenes hard to follow. Also, the artist reuses panels a lot. E.g. there's a pose in c1 where the protagonist lies on the floor with his arms and legs spread out, and by c31 this exact pose must've appeared 4+ times.
I love the MC, the setting, and his abilities. Pretty much for fans of dark fantasy.
it gives off cool dark vibes
and plot is interesting
it keeps you hooked from the very start
