The main issue that I can see with UB as a power system is that it still has to make contact with the target to affect it
The battle until now have mostly been "If my blood touches you I win", which doesn't leave a ton of space to design interesting battles.

Also at least this story did one thing right compared to Boruto. They decided to remove the original MC from the picture through some other means rather than nerf him to make him in line with the rest of the story. What they did to Naruto in Boruto is fucking miserable. Yes lets invalidate the entire original series so we can prop up the undeserving son. At least here its obvious that the previous MC IS still the power house from before but is caught up with outside factors.
