Don't let the first few missions in the manga deceive you, even though the story may feel underwhelming and have ups and downs, and yes the main MC seems like a dick, it really gets better and better in the future arcs. The MC's charecter development later on is what keeps this manga alive. The concept is unique and the art style is truly incredible. Most importantly, time to time you get these special moments which are indescribably beautiful and will not find anywhere else. It teaches you valuable life lessons though the story can be quite brutal time to time, but I think that is important. It has a good ending too!
I haven’t finished reading everything to date yet but the story is a mess. I’m not a sentai/kamen rider fan so I’m sure I’m missing a shit ton of references but this really doesn’t hold its own.
