    The last world was the old testament and the world we are reading is the new testament....The Earl plans to 'cast god into outer darkness' and cause another three days of darkness. In essence its a play on The Devil (The earl)  and God (The heart) having a war. The earl represents Adam. Even with all that its complicated asf. The Pillar seems more extraterrestrial to me...we will know everything in at least 10 years lol
