I'm tired following this stupid manga

There are tons of stories that use those conventions without being games, including this one. Unless it's explicitly said to be a videogame world like "Worlds Strongest Troll", which it hasn't. That manga, by the way, the characters still don't act as if nothing matters. Everything remains to be life or death in this series. Their daughter is literally being mind raped as we speak, they know she is, and the author chooses to drag this shit out like a slice of life story while that's going on. To justify characters ignoring everything going on you argue "hurr Durr nothing matters" okay, then why bother with the fucking story at all.
