That's a pretty harsh criticism, but I raise this in response: was there a better option Akira could have done in that situation? I feel like he was trying to keep losses to a minimum, in other words at that moment he prioritized keeping the peace stable between the village and the humans. That's a pretty typical judgement to make, albeit something that can't be considered perfect, as you pointed out. I guess my main question to you is, would you have preferred Akira to find a way to keep the peace stable AND let no one die, even the goblin who killed in self-defense? Because in all honesty, I don't think that would be realistic.
