I don't know if this is good writing or not, but damn the author really made that wolf girl heroine (is she even qualified to be considered as one if you consider what she did?) unlikable.  Also the way the MC wants to bend the law kinda makes the consequence of the wrongdoings of the wolf girl (???) feel shallow since the story may progress to him winning the bet and putting what she did away like it was a minor thing.
