Every year, the Ushiromiya family convenes on Rokkenjima Island for a gathering hosted by their eccentric patriarch, Kinzou. With his health deteriorating, most family members believe his days are numbered. As a typhoon rages outside, tensions rise within the family as they vie for the inheritance and the position of Kinzou's rightful heir.
Battler, Kinzou's grandson, returns to Rokkenjima after a six-year absence, anticipating a smooth gathering. However, his grandfather has other plans; he initiates a peculiar game, challenging everyone to locate his hidden gold. The finder not only wins the treasure but also gains the ultimate prize: leadership of the family. But their game is marred by violence and murder when participants are used as "sacrifices" to revive Beatrice, the Millennial Witch of Rokkenjima.
A skeptic at heart, Battler does not believe in the occult. Yet, with numerous deaths around him, he begins to question if these events are due to magic or the schemes of someone present.
