There, she is given an incredible task—impersonating the kingdom's master wizard! Fearing that war might break out if it became known that the master wizard, Slythfarn, was missing, his inner circle decided someone must pretend to be him. Merleawe agrees to take on the role! However, she struggles with more than just simple magic and has no clue about the true identity or history of the master wizard. Title: Magical x Miracle
    Mangaka: Yuzu Mizutani
    Years of release: 2002-2006
    Volumes: 6
    Chapters: 44

"Magical x Miracle" revolves around Merleawe, a 14-year-old girl who ventures to the City to learn magic. Upon her arrival, she encounters a mysterious man who starts crying upon seeing her. Adding to her confusion, he utters 'Sylth' and carries her away. As Merleawe cries for help, the city's residents shout "Hey! Stop, let her go!" while others whisper, "You idiot! He's---"

Eventually, it turns out that the man was taking a bewildered and scared Merleawe to the castle. Inside, some peculiar individuals inform her that she bears an uncanny resemblance to their missing wizard master. Thus, the main story begins.

Overall, I believe "Magical x Miracle" is a unique and engaging tale. Throughout the narrative, several unpredictable events unfold, leaving you amazed. While the final book's events are somewhat predictable, the other five volumes more than compensate for this. The artwork is undoubtedly appealing; unlike many manga, each character looks distinct, not just variations with different hair or eyes. Additionally, the panels are well-arranged and easy to follow, which could be beneficial for manga newcomers. Over time, as Merleawe grows older in Volume 6, noticeable changes become apparent. This contrasts with some manga where age transitions seem abrupt and confusing. Moreover, Merleawe isn't your typical heroine—she only cries once or twice, and these moments are spaced out.

On the downside, some readers might find the story disjointed and random, lacking sufficient context. It's true that a few plot points remain unresolved, but they don't spoil the overall experience. Some have also criticized the unrealistic aspect of her resembling the male wizard master, but it's fiction after all. Without a bit of fantasy, there would be no intriguing story.

Personally, I rate "Magical x Miracle" a 4.5 out of 5 due to its attractive art, uniqueness, and enjoyability. From a broader perspective, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5. Some find the story lacks flow, deeming it boring or even foolish, but its distinctive art and enjoyable nature appeal to many. Ultimately, enjoyment depends on individual taste.

Apologies if this review feels somewhat weak; it's one of my first attempts.

    Plot:
The plot is succinct and lacks memorability. The setting feels somewhat unnatural, making it hard to take seriously. However, it's a charming and relaxing story that encourages perseverance: even if compared to geniuses, never give up on studying and achieving your goals!

Merleawe, a young girl from the countryside, arrives in the big city aspiring to become a magician. On her first day, she gets "kidnapped" by a man who insists she looks exactly like their missing head magician. Naturally, she must impersonate him.

Several volumes focus entirely on her interactions with the castle staff and her attempts to play the role convincingly (with varying degrees of success). She also interacts with the head magician’s close associates: a clever man, a gentle one, a child, and a childish young man.

Though naive and inexperienced with magic, Merleawe is brave and spirited. She may shed a few tears, but always for understandable reasons.

The story has a clear beginning and end, although some questions remain unanswered.

    Art:
It's classic shoujo with large eyes and adorable characters. The art isn't exceptional, nor is it poor; it's pleasant and easy to follow with distinct lines.

    Characters:
Like the plot, the characters are not particularly memorable. They tend to be rather one-dimensional and lack depth, but they’re still acceptable.

    Overall:
This is one of those fantasy tales that will warm your heart and clear your mind of dark thoughts! Despite its simplicity and absence of complex elements, these six volumes are worthwhile, especially if you enjoy magic and shoujo.
