Gotta say Ctarnidd's true form was way more interesting that what I expected; before the reveal of him being a regular octopus (which I guess was him inverted himself), I thought he'd be more kraken or cthulhu like.
But with his true form being revealed as his main body being an 8-sided star magic circle with his tentacles coming out of the star points of like portals & within the core of the star is a big Ctarnidd eye was an interesting last boss form!!!!
I would recruit masters by giving them their own houses. Like family name noble houses. They'd have to build it from the ground up, but someone called a master wouldn't balk at something like that.
Perhaps make it a competition. The best three that contribute the most could become like like the shield families of the king. It's a thought.
Short term, I'm not sure how self-sufficient the country is, but if it's not, then setting up some better trade routes in a different direction from Swallow would be best.
... Hmm. Woulda tournament work?.. Hmm. Maybe not. I doubt they have the healthiest treasury right now.
