No, I don't think he can lead the hero party. The others in the hero party need to be strong enough to save the world. I think that what he did is not wrong. As you can see, Erika now has the determination to become stronger, even stronger than the one in-game. Colette, on the other hand, is weaker because she and her mother are saved by Harold, so she does not have the desperation to become stronger. Harold will fix this later, but the point is, if he leads the hero party, and the others in the party are overwhelmed by his strength, they might think that having Harold is enough. They may become weaker than the characters in-game. As a result, they might fail to save the world. This is just my perspective, though, as I only read the WN until the game storyline begins.

This has actually become pretty interesting, the story is a power fantasy, but at least the protag does some thinking rather than just go down the I'm famous I bang all the chick type of guy
