    The carrot also serves as a way for them to get revenue without having to spend their entire life perfecting their hearing, which will allow the children to learn other things and blossom as individuals. So I get why the carrot thing is good for them.
    My gripe is a narrative one, because it wasn't a change born from the many-ears, it wasn't a change the Iruma came up with, it wasn't even Nova who worked hard to create the carrot or anything, it just so happens that by complete chance, the carrot they grow is really good. It doesn't make sense narratively.
