Shin Kazama, an airline pilot, was on the verge of marrying Ryoko Tsugumo, the daughter of the CEO of Yamato Airlines. However, fate took a different turn when his former best friend, Satoru Kanzaki, deceived him into signing a contract to become a mercenary pilot for the Kingdom of Asran. Now based at Area 88, a military base in a Middle Eastern country, Shin faces three options to return to Japan: serve in the air force for three years, earn US$1.5 million, or desert the base, risking certain death.
Area 88 was partially published in English in comic book format, spanning 42 issues from May 26, 1987, to May 1989. Issues 1 through 36 were released by Eclipse Comics, with the remaining six published by VIZ Media before the series was canceled. It then shifted to VIZ Media's magazine, Animerica, continuing for another 17 issues from October 1993 to February 1995. Only one tankoubon volume was released in August 1991.
Chapter 14 is some scenes that gives small info like firewoods and coals as luxury, some plants that are expensive (which both could be mass produced later or be cultivated or something), and the monkeys are subordinates of the mother fox that appeared at the end of the chpter..
Chapter 15 is the past of the MC on Earth but the ending was cut off, there will probably a continuation about it later on..(honestly the way they put it in the middle of the current arc doesn't make sense at all)
