Yuuna Akashi is an athletic girl who excels in basketball and is often seen with Makie, Ako, and Akira, collectively known as the Sports clubs group. Her father, Professor Akashi, is a Mage-teacher at the Academy. Among her sports friends, Yuna is the most mischievous.
Her pactio items include basketballs and a pair of shoes that enable her to jump exceptionally high.
The surname Akashi originates from a city in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan.
In the manga, she is illustrated with black hair. However, in both anime adaptations, her hair is depicted as brown. In the "Mahou Sensei Negima!" series, her hair color is closer to sandy taupe, while in "Negima!?", it is a definite shade of brown.
Yuna is very protective of her father and dislikes any woman who seems to get too close to him.
In the manga, her pactio item is a pair of guns. During her time in the magical world, she discovers that her mother did not die in an overseas accident as she had believed, but was killed on a mission for the magical government, possibly connected to Nagi's battle against Fate Averruncus' organization.
