Youko is a female kitsune youkai named by Kantarou. At the start of Tactics, she was already residing with him. She is known for being loud and impulsive, frequently losing her temper with Kantarou. Youko has the unique ability to make her fox ears appear and disappear at will, and she can transform into her fox form whenever she desires. She shows a deep concern for household expenses and often nags Kantarou about completing his book manuscripts.
Before living with Kantarou, Youko was a solitary youkai who tricked travelers into believing she was part of their family. She initially pretends to be Kantarou's wife, but he soon reveals her true nature as a youkai and invites her to join his household instead.
